Lee Sang-Kyoung

Abstract
According to the statistics of credit defaulter management situation announced by the nation-wide bank association on a date of June 30, 2003, the number of personal credit defaulters reached at 3,225,168, bringing 14% of population who can work actively for our economy. Half of the credit defaulters were in their 20s and 30s, which should not be overlooked considering that they could be leading workers responsible for our country¡¯s economy. The wrongful economic approach by economic leaders may result in national economic crisis. In an effort to solve the problem of credit defaulters, the current economic education needs to prevail by pointing out pocket money problems in family economic education, crisscross of government economic policy, lack of school economic education, short of economy-majored teachers, and lack of study materials. For the ways of improvement, economic education should be implemented as continuing financial education, the contents of economic education should be changed for social life economic education, and economy should be learned as a liberal art in school. In addition, the cooperations between financial institutions and government institutions, as well as constant economic education, will pave the way for a new turning point in national economy.
